Interview with RebelsFunding CEO

Foerx Trading Journals: Can you tell us a bit about your background and your journey in the forex trading industry?
Marek Soska: This could be a very long story, but I will try to keep it brief. I started trading in 2008, so I experienced significant market turbulence. At the beginning, it was the classic story: in one week, I studied everything available online about the stock market and then shifted my focus to FX. The following week, I tried out all kinds of indicators, loaded them into the platform, observed what was happening, and after a week, I dismissed them all as ineffective.
After that came further study of forex and related topics, and I started trading again with my own capital. Over time, I developed a system that worked quite well, and I managed to multiply my capital several times. Naturally, this attracted the interest of others, and I was subsequently approached by the first investors, which increased the trading capital to a level many traders aspire to achieve. Since 2011, I have been trading full-time.
Of course, this brought risks I hadn’t previously encountered, such as broker issues, payout problems, and so on. All these experiences taught me a lot and pushed me forward. Since 2015, I have also worked as a mentor in an educational project for traders, helping them develop alternative strategies. This journey eventually led to the founding of a prop firm.
Foerx Trading Journals: What inspired you to start RebelsFunding, and what sets your prop firm apart from others in the market? How did your experiences and insights shape the vision and mission of RebelsFunding?
Marek Soska: I closely monitored the market situation as a trader and slowly began to notice a new model emerging that offered traders unprecedented opportunities. At the time, FTMO was probably the only reliable company in the market. Since they are based in our near-home region, I had known about them since 2014 because the Czech Republic and Slovakia were their initial markets during their early stages.
I thoroughly studied their conditions and rules, and based on my years of experience, I saw great potential in this model. At the beginning, I simply referred traders from my course to them.
The rules and conditions at that time were strict, aiming to identify genuinely talented traders. They didn’t support exaggerated dreams of easy success but rather focused on teaching traders proper and safe trading practices, with the possibility of long-term earnings. As a successful trader, I greatly appreciated and fully agreed with this approach.
Foerx Trading Journals: What challenges did you face when establishing RebelsFunding, and how did you overcome them?
Marek Soska: The obstacles and challenges associated with starting a prop firm could be discussed for hours. As you may have noticed, we chose to take our own path. From creating the website, CRM, and the entire back office to the member zone and system, and even our branded platform with which we have a close partnership, all of it involved years of effort and development. During this journey, we encountered numerous issues, especially of a technical nature, which significantly strengthened and pushed us forward.
Fortunately, I have a team around me that shares the company’s vision of reaching the top of the industry, and we all work hard to achieve this goal. This is why we placed a strong emphasis on customer support, promptly resolving all issues. Our priority has always been customer satisfaction, and this principle remains unchanged. As a result, we have one of the best support teams, which is highly friendly and always stands by the trader’s side.
Foerx Trading Journals: How do you ensure that your funding models and trading conditions remain competitive and attractive to traders?
Marek Soska: We strive to structure our model to be as advantageous as possible for traders while ensuring it remains sustainable in the long term. Some of our conditions may appear less attractive compared to competitors, but everything has a reason.
At RebelsFunding, we care deeply about delivering on a vision that stretches several years into the future—not just a few months, as is often the case with many current prop firms. These firms often operate on unsustainable models, luring traders with unrealistically high discounts and conditions. In the end, traders lose money and never receive rewards because the promises simply aren’t realistic.
Our model is designed to allow both the trader and the company to function consistently, without worrying about paying out future profits. We focus on the quality of our services and ensuring traders receive their rewards without any issues. In my opinion, this should be a priority for every prop firm.
Foerx Trading Journals: Can you share some key milestones and achievements RebelsFunding has reached since its inception in 2022?
Marek Soska: After years of preparation, RebelsFunding officially launched on May 1, 2023. Since then, we’ve achieved several important milestones, including the launch of our client section, the initiation of monthly trading competitions free for all traders, the expansion of our services worldwide, and the payout of over $1 million in rewards to traders.
Other notable achievements include our first successfully completed program just a week after launch, the first payout to a trader, and our initial positive reviews.
Although we are still a small online prop firm in global terms, we have big ambitions 😊. Every seemingly small milestone is significant to us and reinforces our belief that what we are doing makes sense.

Foerx Trading Journals: What are your short-term and long-term goals for RebelsFunding in this fast-paced forex trading industry?
Marek Soska: Our short-term goals include increasing our visibility within trading communities and earning traders’ trust so they can see for themselves that their satisfaction is our number one priority.
In the long term, our goal is to become a leading name alongside the largest and most reliable prop firms in the market. Improving our services remains equally important to us. Everything that helps traders achieve their goals is also our goal and always will be.
Foerx Trading Journals: How do you plan to stay ahead of industry trends and keep innovating to provide the best services for traders?
Marek Soska: One of our biggest advantages is our minimal dependence on third parties. We developed our entire system in-house, meaning we’re not subject to rule or policy changes from external providers, as is often the case with firms that purchase complete turnkey solutions—from trading platforms to full prop system risk management.
Thanks to our team’s continuous efforts to improve our services and systems, and the progress we’ve made so far, I am confident we have a successful future ahead of us.
Foerx Trading Journals: Are there any new features, programs, or initiatives that you’re excited to introduce in the near future?
Marek Soska: Absolutely! We are constantly working on refining our programs and improving our conditions. In the future, we’ll certainly introduce or completely revamp some of our programs. Time and industry developments will dictate the changes, as will the needs and preferences of our traders.
Foerx Trading Journals: With recent prop firm closures and other negative incidents in the market, how does RebelsFunding ensure its reliability and sustainability?
Marek Soska: Unfortunately, many firms launched in the past year were built using prepackaged system solutions purchased for just a few thousand euros. The management of these companies often didn’t even understand how the market works. Most of these firms lasted only a few months before shutting down, raising many questions and concerns among traders. In the future, we’ll likely see even more firms face similar issues.
I urge traders to be cautious and avoid offers that seem too good to be true.
We’ve invested a tremendous amount of work and resources into RebelsFunding. Our system is designed with an emphasis on long-term growth and progress. Every trader receives individual attention, and our team is always ready to assist anyone who reaches out to us.
Foerx Trading Journals: What measures do you take to build and maintain trust with your traders and the broader trading community?
Marek Soska: Transparency is a fundamental principle for us. Traders can freely express their opinions, whether on TrustPilot, our Discord channel, or any of our social media platforms, without fear of being blocked or having it negatively impact their collaboration with us.
We are open to all suggestions and feedback from our traders, and whenever possible, we strive to implement their requests into our services. Our community and the trust of our traders are essential to us.
Foerx Trading Journals: How do you perceive the competition among the prop trading firms? Is it good to have competition to serve the traders better?
Marek Soska: In my opinion, competition is healthy as it drives the overall development and quality of services. However, in today’s landscape, the large number of new firms offering unrealistically low prices, endless discounts, and nonsensical conditions is pushing competition to an unhealthy and even harmful level.
Some prop firms use tactics such as 50% discounts or offers like “1+2/3 free accounts” to lure traders into purchasing their programs. Worse yet, if a trader successfully passes the challenge, the chances of receiving a payout from trading profits are minimal or non-existent. These firms often attempt to disqualify traders or avoid paying them, which is truly unfortunate.
Therefore, I urge traders not to be swayed solely by the biggest discounts, lowest prices, or seemingly attractive conditions. They should realistically consider whether such excessive promotions are sustainable for these firms and whether they will genuinely receive their profits.
Foerx Trading Journals: If you had the opportunity to be the CEO of any other prop firm, which firm would you choose and why?
It would likely be FTMO
Marek Soska: I love RebelsFunding with all my heart, and I am confident that, over time, we will reach the level of some of the biggest players in the market. For this reason, I wouldn’t trade places. However, if I had to choose a firm that currently has the greatest chance of sustainability and genuinely cares about the success of its traders, it would likely be FTMO.
Foerx Trading Journals: Which other prop trading firm do you personally admire and believe has serious potential in the industry?
Marek Soska: In today’s fast-evolving prop trading world, I personally consider FTMO and The5%ers to be serious firms with significant potential for success. These companies are role models for the direction we aspire to take in the future, and I believe that one day we will match or even surpass their quality.
Foerx Trading Journals: How do you plan to expand Rebels Funding’s presence and reach more traders globally?
Marek Soska: We aim to strengthen our global presence by collaborating with affiliate partners from various parts of the world. In 2025, our plan includes increasing awareness and establishing partnerships with as many affiliates as possible.
We also intend to enrich our social media content, and if everything goes according to plan, we hope to represent our company at one of the major Expo exhibitions.
